Spotify’s AI DJ has become one of the app’s standout features, crafting playlists that reflect your unique taste and even throwing in a few casual comments along the way. Now, the experience is getting even more interactive, Spotify is introducing the ability to make real-time requests during sessions, letting you switch up the vibe, song, or artist on the fly.
In a recent blog post, the company shared that users can now ask the AI DJ to adjust their playlist based on their current mood or activity whether you’re setting the tone for a date night or need some upbeat tracks to kick off a party.
To access the new requests feature, you’ll need to be listening to a Spotify DJ playlist. While the DJ button previously just shuffled your songs, it now does a lot more. By pressing and holding the button, you can make specific requests like switching the vibe from “fun and party” to something more “dark and gloomy.”
The new DJ requests feature is gradually rolling out to all Spotify Premium users across more than 60 regions where the AI DJ is available. At the moment, voice commands are the only way to interact with and customize your AI-powered playlist. If you haven’t seen the update yet, make sure your Spotify app is up to date.
