Apple is clearly all-in on the Vision Pro, as shown by the growing number of rumors suggesting visionOS design elements are making their way to other platforms. With two new Vision Pro models currently in development, Apple is also testing a feature that would let users scroll through the interface using just their eyes.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is currently testing an eye-scrolling feature for the Vision Pro. Expected to arrive with the visionOS 3 update, this feature would let users navigate the interface simply by looking at items, with selections made using a finger pinch gesture. If the reports are accurate, we could see this feature in action when Apple unveils the next version of visionOS at WWDC 2025 on June 9.
Reportedly, the eye-scrolling feature will make use of Vision Pro’s built-in eye-tracking system and is expected to function across all native Apple apps on visionOS. According to Gurman, Apple also plans to open up this capability to developers, allowing them to integrate eye-scrolling into their third-party apps as well.
Apple recently showcased upcoming accessibility features across its platforms, including visionOS. With this update, Vision Pro users will be able to zoom in on objects they’re looking at using the device’s main camera. The enhanced VoiceOver feature will also bring new capabilities like describing surroundings, identifying objects, reading documents, and more. As WWDC approaches next month, we’re likely to see these features and possibly more detailed further.
