In addition to iOS 18 and macOS 15, Apple has announced the watchOS 11 update, set to arrive for the Apple Watch later this year. The latest version of watchOS brings new features such as Apple Intelligence, customizable Activity Rings and Smart Stack, Training Load insights, summarized notifications, and more. Apple Watch Models Compatible with watchOS 11
Apple usually provides five years of watchOS updates for its existing Apple Watch models. Based on this update cycle, watchOS 11 will be available for the following models:
- Apple Watch Ultra 2
- Apple Watch Ultra
- Apple Watch Series 9
- Apple Watch Series 8
- Apple Watch Series 7
- Apple Watch Series 6
- Apple Watch Series 5
- Apple Watch SE 2nd generation
- Apple Watch SE 1st generation
Apple has officially ended support for the Watch Series 4, which was launched in 2018, making watchOS 10 the final major update for this model.
To update any of the supported Apple Watch models to the latest watchOS 11 version, you will also need an iPhone 11 running iOS 18.
When Will My Apple Watch Get the watchOS 11 Update?
Since watchOS 11 has already been announced, the developer beta is currently available. Regular users can try out the public beta when it’s released in July.
If you’re enrolled in the watchOS beta program, you can check for the watchOS 11 beta update by opening the Watch app on your iPhone and navigating to General -> Software Update -> Beta Updates -> watchOS 11 Developer/Public Beta.
Apple is expected to roll out the stable version of watchOS 11 in late September or early October, alongside iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15.
