Highlights include on-device and cloud AI support, new interaction methods with Siri, a new Passwords app, a redesigned Photos app, and, finally, a Calculator app. Here is the list of all devices that will support the new iPadOS 18 update.

With on-device AI functions, it’s likely that Apple may limit some features on iPads not equipped with an M1 chip or newer. The list above confirms that iPadOS 18 will not be available for the 2018 iPad and the 2017 iPad Pro, making iPadOS 17 the last major update for these models.
Release Date for iPadOS 18
With iPadOS 18 now announced, developers can install the Developer Beta immediately by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates > iPadOS 18 Developer Beta.
As usual, regular users will get to try out the new iPadOS version in a few weeks (likely in July) when the Public Beta is released. The stable version of iPadOS 18 is expected to arrive in September or October for all supported devices.
