After a long absence, the Master Ball has made a comeback in Pokémon GO, thanks to the new Catching Wonders event. This event introduces a variety of research tasks and rewards. If you’re new to Pokémon GO and want to learn all about the Catching Wonders event, keep reading for all the details.
Catching Wonders is part of the Pokémon GO May 2024 roadmap and features a comprehensive Masterwork Research questline. This research includes numerous tasks split into different steps, which can be quite challenging to complete. It’s recommended to take your time with this event.
The Masterwork Research: Catching Wonders consists of tasks divided into four steps. Upon completing these steps, you will receive a Master Ball in your inventory. The Catching Wonders event runs from May 14 at 10 AM to May 19 at 8 PM local time.
Throughout the Catching Wonders week, you’ll earn rewards such as Stardust, XP, and Pokéballs for playing and completing quests. Additionally, you’ll receive 10x XP and 5x Stardust for your first catch and first PokéStop spin each day during the event.
Pokémon GO Catching Wonders: Every Research Task Detailed
Let’s take a look at all the research tasks in the ongoing Pokémon GO event:
Step 1 of 4
- Catch 250 Pokemon: 20 Pokeballs
- Use 150 berries to help catch Pokemon: 15 Razzberry
- Make 100 Nice Curveball throws: 2500 Stardust
Reward: 2500 XP and a Sandygast encounter to catch and add the Pokemon
Step 2 of 4
- Catch 300 Pokemon: 25 Pokeballs
- Make 100 Great Curveball Throws: 15 Pinap Berry
- Transfer 50 Pokemon: 20 Great Ball
Reward: 3500 XP and a Dubwool encounter to catch and add the Pokemon.
Step 3 of 4
- Catch 350 Pokemon: 20 Great Ball
- Defeat 25 Team GO Rocket members: 5 Charged TMs
- Catch 75 different species of Pokemon: 15x Revive
Reward: 4500 XP and a Hisuian Sneasel encounter to catch and add the Pokemon.
Step 4 of 4
- Visit PokeStops on seven different days: 2500 XP
- Catch a Pokemon on seven different days: 2500x Stardust
- Hatch 20 Eggs: Whiscash encounter
- Catch 75 Pokemon in a single day: 20 Ultra Balls
- Make 50 Excellent Throws: 20 Max Revive
- Catch 500 Pokemon: 3 Silver Pinap Berry
Reward: 5000 XP, 5000 Stardust, and one Master Ball
