Vivo Pad 5e Debuts With 2.8K 144 Hz Display And Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

Vivo’s latest tablet delivers flagship-grade performance and an elegant design but surprisingly ships with an older OriginOS version.

Vivo unveiled its highly anticipated X300 series smartphones today, and to complement the launch, the brand also introduced the Vivo Pad 5e. This new tablet packs a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, a large 12.1-inch display, and a massive battery, among other impressive specifications.

Vivo Pad 5e is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

The Vivo Pad 5e showcases an all-aluminium build and a 12.1-inch 2.8K IPS LCD screen that supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and DC dimming. The Soft-light edition of the Pad 5e offers an eye-friendly display designed with soft light protection to minimize glare and eye strain during prolonged use.

The tablet runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, an octa-core processor offering high performance. For photography, it includes an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. The device features a quad-speaker system and draws power from a 10,000mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging.

Although Vivo showcased OriginOS 6 during the launch event, the Pad 5e surprisingly ships with OriginOS 5, which feels slightly outdated. Interestingly, the tablet can function as an extended screen for Windows and Mac systems and even serves as a portable file station.

The bottom section houses a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, while connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. It is available in Grey, Lavender, and Blue colour variants and supports Vivo Pencil 3 and Touch Keyboard 5 accessories.

It’s also worth mentioning that the 128 GB models use UFS 3.1 storage, while the 256 GB and higher variants come with UFS 4.1.

The standard Vivo Pad 5e offers four storage variants, whereas the Soft-light edition includes two. Pricing begins at 1,999 Chinese Yuan (around ₹25,000) for the 8 GB + 128 GB variant and goes up to 2,999 Chinese Yuan (around ₹37,000) for the 16 GB + 512 GB model.

Additionally, Vivo unveiled the Watch GT2 and TWS 5/Hi-Fi earbuds, starting at 499 Yuan (approx ₹6,200) and 399 Yuan (approx ₹5,000) respectively.

The Vivo Pad 5e will officially go on sale in China on October 17, 2025, via the Vivo China online store, with pre-orders open now. As for its India launch, there’s no confirmation yet, and considering Vivo’s previous tablet launches, its arrival in the Indian market seems unlikely.

The Vivo Pad 5e sports an all-aluminium chassis and a 12.1-inch 2.8K 144Hz IPS LCD panel with a 240Hz touch sampling rate and DC dimming. The Soft-light variant adds eye protection features to minimize glare and reduce eye strain.
