Just a few days ago, Call of Duty fans enjoyed a cinematic preview of the new Black Ops zombies map, Terminus. Today, a new trailer has been released, offering a detailed look at the round-based zombies gameplay, featuring both new and returning elements. There’s a lot to explore, so let’s dive into what the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies trailer reveals.
The two-minute trailer picks up right after the cinematic introduction we recently covered, which featured the return of the familiar character Edward Richtofen. It showcases the new team Grigori Weaver, Dr. Grey, Major Carver, and Maya as they battle hordes of zombies using an array of new tools and traps.
The map appears to blend elements from Mob of the Dead and Zetsubo No Shima from Black Ops 3. It includes new traps, wonder weapons, perks, and field abilities, such as the ability to transform into the Mangler. Fans will also be pleased to see the return of favorites like the Gobblegum machine, PhD Slider perk, and Monkey Bombs.
Additionally, the iconic Jet Gun makes a surprising comeback in Black Ops 6 Zombies after its last appearance in Black Ops 2. Let’s hope it holds up better this time around and doesn’t break after just a few uses.
The game also introduces a diverse array of enemies. Alongside the standard zombies, players will encounter new threats, including giant spiders, a tentacle monster at the beach, and parasites reminiscent of those from Shadows of Evil. The highlight is a new mini-boss composed of multiple zombies, resembling the Rat King from The Last of Us Part 2.
We haven’t yet explored the other map, Liberty Falls, set in West Virginia. For zombie fans like me, this year looks promising. Treyarch has had ample time to develop their content, and this latest trailer showcases their efforts. We’ll have to wait until September 6 for the open beta, which will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
