With Vision Pro, Apple has been championing immersive content, letting iPhone users record Spatial Videos to enjoy on the headset. But until now, there wasn’t a dedicated way to manage these immersive videos. That changes today, as Apple has launched a new app to simplify the process for both Mac and Vision Pro users.
Called Apple Immersive Video Utility, the app is now available on visionOS and macOS. As described on the App Store, it allows users to import, organize, package, and review Apple Immersive Video content on their Macs. And for those using Vision Pro, the app also supports reviewing immersive videos directly through the headset.
With the Apple Immersive Video Utility app, users can do much more than just organize content. You can import and manage immersive video files, share them, inspect and edit metadata, and even stream immersive video playlists to multiple Vision Pro headsets directly from a Mac.
The app is free to download, but there are a couple of caveats. It’s currently available only for devices set to U.S. English. Also, you’ll need a Mac with an M1 chip or newer, running macOS 15.0 or later to install and use the app.
