For those who switched from Android to iOS, you might have noticed the absence of a seemingly simple feature – setting multiple timers on your iPhone. Unlike Android devices, iOS didn’t allow this functionality, leaving users to find workarounds. However, the latest iOS 17 update is here to change that.
During WWDC 2023 in June, Apple’s software chief Craig Federighi announced that iOS 17 will finally introduce the ability to set multiple timers. The iOS 17 beta version now allows you to create as many timers as you need, although only five will be visible on the lock screen simultaneously.
Setting a timer remains straightforward: open the Clock app, tap the Timer tab, adjust the timer’s length, and hit Start. Siri can also help you set timers. Similar to setting multiple alarms in iOS 16, you’ll find a “+” sign in the upper right corner to open a new timer. Alternatively, you can ask Siri to create additional timers even if others are already running.
If having the convenience of multiple timers is a priority, you can opt to install the latest public beta of iOS 17. However, keep in mind the caveat that comes with beta versions – they might affect app performance and battery life. Betas are considered “unstable,” so it’s advisable not to install them on your primary device.

While the ability to set multiple timers might not be groundbreaking, it’s a welcomed improvement that iPhone users will surely appreciate.
