The highly anticipated iPhone 16 series has arrived, packed with several new Apple Intelligence features that will be available soon. If you’re debating whether to upgrade or stick with your reliable iPhone 14, hoping these AI-powered features might make their way to your device, we’ve got some news for you. In this guide, we’ll explore whether the iPhone 14 models will receive the new Apple Intelligence features.
Will the iPhone 14 Receive Apple Intelligence Features?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. None of the iPhone 14 models whether it’s the base iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, or iPhone 14 Pro Max will receive the Apple Intelligence features.
However, don’t be discouraged. Apple is limiting its AI features to specific models. In the iPhone 15 series, only the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max include Apple Intelligence, made possible by the latest A-series chip.
The omission is due to the lower amount of RAM and the older A-series chipset in the iPhone 14 lineup. Apple Intelligence requires more RAM to handle the on-device computational tasks effectively. These AI features are resource-intensive, demanding at least 8 GB of RAM to run smoothly alongside other processes without affecting the overall performance of your iPhone.
Which iPhones Are Compatible with Apple Intelligence?
As noted earlier, Apple Intelligence requires at least 8 GB of RAM, so it will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max with the iOS 18 update. In addition to these two models, all newly launched iPhone 16 models will support these AI features, including the revamped Siri, Writing tools, Notification summary, and more. Apple Intelligence is a significant upgrade, but not enough to render your current iPhone obsolete. iOS 18 brings plenty of exciting features, like new home screen customizations, app lock, and control center updates.
