In the Genshin Impact 5.6 update, players were given only a brief glimpse of Mini Durin’s humanoid form during the final moments of the Archon quest. While this short appearance may have left some fans feeling unsatisfied, it strongly suggests that there’s more in store for this intriguing character.
It seems highly unlikely that HoYoverse would introduce such a fascinating transformation only to abandon the storyline. The build-up around Mini Durin hints at deeper lore connections and potential character development that hasn’t yet been explored.
With that in mind, there’s good reason to believe we’ll see more of Mini Durin in future quests perhaps even another chapter with Albedo. This continued storyline would also be the perfect opportunity for HoYoverse to introduce Mini Durin as a playable character, something that fans are already eagerly hoping for.
Mini Durin Might Not Be the Only Dragon to Take Human Form
Durin, like other dragons in Genshin Impact, is immensely powerful. Introducing such a character as playable can pose challenges, but it wouldn’t be the first time a dragon has taken on a human form in the game.
Take Neuvillette, for example. He’s recognized as the reincarnated Hydro Dragon Sovereign, essentially a dragon born as a human. This strongly suggests Mini Durin’s humanoid form could become a playable character.
Neuvillette isn’t the only case. Several Adepti, like Xiao and Xianyun, also embody immense power and appear in human form, making them accessible as playable characters. So the concept is well-established within the Genshin universe.
Could Mini Durin’s Human Form Join the Playable Roster?
The odds are high that Mini Durin’s new form will make its way into the list of playable characters. It wouldn’t make much sense for HoYoverse to build up such a compelling storyline and detailed character model only to leave it unfinished. The humanoid design we saw in the Archon quest finale was too polished to be just another NPC.
It feels likely that this transformation will eventually lead to a new character introduction. With the groundwork already laid in the story, bringing Mini Durin into the game as a playable unit seems like the natural next step.
