Spotify has officially integrated with ChatGPT, allowing users to generate personalized playlists, get song recommendations, and receive podcast suggestions—all through conversation. The feature is available to both free and Premium Spotify users.
Build Spotify Playlists Using ChatGPT
As part of ChatGPT’s new app integrations, users can now access third-party services like Spotify directly within the chat interface. Alongside Spotify, other supported apps include Canva for design creation and Zillow for browsing property listings. The update is currently available in 145 countries across Android, iOS, and the web versions of ChatGPT and Spotify.
Spotify’s addition is particularly exciting—users can simply ask ChatGPT to find specific songs, albums, artists, playlists, or podcasts. To use this feature, you’ll need to link your Spotify account the first time you mention it in a prompt. This allows ChatGPT to tailor recommendations based on your listening habits, though you can disconnect your account anytime.

You can now ask ChatGPT to craft a playlist tailored to your mood, preferred genre, particular situation, favorite artists, or even a podcast featuring a special guest. Once the playlist is ready, simply tap on any song to be redirected to the Spotify app and start listening instantly.
In a recent blog post, Spotify explained that free users can explore playlists already available on the platform, such as Discover Weekly and New Music Friday. Meanwhile, premium users can go further by letting Spotify transform their detailed prompts into a fresh, highly personalized mix of tracks.
The integration of Spotify with ChatGPT came as a surprise to many, yet it makes perfect sense considering the AI tool’s widespread popularity. For users like me who already rely on ChatGPT for music suggestions, this new feature is extremely convenient—and gives me one more reason to stay loyal to Spotify instead of switching to another streaming service.
