The forthcoming Galaxy S series is expected to include upgraded camera hardware
Samsung has officially concluded its Q3 2025 Earnings Call. Although the focus remained largely on the company’s financial performance, a few key details about the Galaxy S26 lineup were also revealed. Here’s everything the 2026 smartphones are expected to bring.
Exynos, AI, and camera advancements to define the Galaxy S26 lineup
As per Daniel Araujo, Vice President of Samsung’s Mobile Experience Division, the Galaxy S26 series, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra, will incorporate in-house Exynos processors, next-generation AI capabilities, and enhanced camera sensors.
The Galaxy S26 lineup will revolutionize the user experience with user-centric, next-gen AI, a second-generation custom AP, and stronger performance, including new camera sensors.— Daniel Araujo, VP of Samsung’s Mobile Experience Division
Although Araujo did not specifically name the Exynos 2600, it is widely assumed that this is the “custom AP” he mentioned. Based on prior leaks, at least one model in the Galaxy S26 lineup is anticipated to feature the Exynos 2600 processor. Meanwhile, the S26 Ultra is likely to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, whereas the base or Plus variant may include Samsung’s own chip.

In addition, a new custom Exynos connectivity chip has recently been spotted, suggesting it may accompany the Exynos 2600, reportedly the world’s first 2nm processor. Altogether, Samsung seems to be reviving its dual-chip strategy, which was paused for the Galaxy S25 lineup this year.

This decision aligns with the Exynos 2600’s Geekbench results, which place it alongside Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset. The processor achieved over 11,000 points in multi-core testing. The 2nm GAA (Gate-All-Around) process, combined with strong performance, may help Samsung regain prominence in the chip manufacturing space.
Moreover, Araujo referenced user-focused AI features and new camera sensors for the upcoming smartphones but refrained from providing specific details. It’s expected that Galaxy AI will become more advanced and practical next year. The camera enhancements, however, remain under wraps, leaving fans curious about Samsung’s next move.

Additionally, Samsung’s Q3 2025 earnings report disclosed plans to expand its foldable lineup and introduce AI-driven health features for Galaxy Watches and TWS earbuds. The company has already teased the Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold, and reports suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature improved crease-reduction technology slated for 2026. Clearly, Samsung remains deeply invested in the future of foldable devices.
Overall, 2026 appears to be a pivotal and somewhat complex year for Samsung. The company seems to be making major behind-the-scenes changes, possibly explaining the Galaxy S26 series’ delayed launch, now expected in February or March 2026. As the new year approaches, more updates will likely surface.
