Realme Teams Up With Ricoh for Photography-Focused GT 8 Pro

Realme is joining forces with Ricoh to bring enhanced photography capabilities to its upcoming flagship smartphone.

Yesterday, Realme hinted at a collaboration with a globally recognized camera brand for its next flagship series. The company has now confirmed that it is partnering with the iconic Japanese camera maker Ricoh.

According to Realme’s global social media handle on X, the Realme GT 8 Pro will be the first device to showcase this collaboration. The brand will host a dedicated “Image Strategic Cooperation” launch event on October 14, 2025, to highlight the full scope of this imaging partnership.

Even before the official details emerge, we can already form some expectations about this collaboration based on Realme’s prior statements. At the heart of this partnership is the inspiration drawn from the legendary Ricoh GR series of point-and-shoot cameras.

From the Ricoh GR I through to the GR IV, these Japanese cameras with fixed lenses have earned a reputation for street photography. They feature a 28mm-equivalent APS-C sensor paired with a fixed wide-angle lens, enabling sharp and detailed stills as well as portrait shots.

Beyond their impressive hardware, the Ricoh GR cameras are celebrated for their distinct color science, delivering lifelike colors, smooth bokeh, and excellent monochrome images. Given this, choosing Ricoh for the GT 8 Pro seems like a fitting decision.

The partnership might extend over the next four years, hinted at by the tagline “4 Years in One Snap,” or it could signify that the collaboration announcement has been in preparation for four years. Either way, the full details are expected in two weeks when Realme officially reveals more information.

The Realme GT 8 Pro is rumored to feature a powerful 200 MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 primary sensor.

While the actual camera performance with Ricoh’s tuning remains to be seen, the phone is expected to stick to top-tier hardware. Reports suggest it will pair the 200 MP main sensor with a 3x periscope lens, along with a 50 MP standard camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide shooter.

The device is already confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Additionally, it may include a 7,300mAh battery and a 6.8-inch 2K LTPO OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, though these specs have yet to be officially verified.

With Ricoh’s involvement, Realme is joining other brands like Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi in showcasing strong imaging capabilities. Fans are eager to see the camera performance and overall features of the GT 8 Pro.
