The upcoming Realme GT 8 Pro is set to include specially designed Ricoh-tuned lenses, aimed at delivering sharper and more detailed images.
Realme has officially shared fresh insights into the camera setup of its flagship GT 8 Pro, confirming a partnership with Ricoh Imaging to bring a Ricoh GR-inspired photography experience to smartphones.
Ricoh GR Mode Brings Speed and Precision to the GT 8 Pro
According to Realme, this collaboration has been in progress for several years. The result is a custom Ricoh-engineered lens that enhances image clarity through high transparency, reduced distortion, and better anti-glare coating. These lenses are designed to produce visuals that closely match the signature sharpness of Ricoh’s GR camera series.

A major highlight of the GT 8 Pro will be its dedicated Ricoh GR Mode, built to emulate the authentic shooting experience of a GR camera. This mode includes ultra-fast startup speeds, the classic GR IV shutter sound, a Snap mode for quick captures, and a Viewfinder Mode that lets users refine their composition.
In addition, the camera setup supports 28mm and 40mm full-frame focal lengths — perfect for both wide-angle and close-up photography. The Ricoh GR Mode also offers several signature color tones such as Standard, Positive Film, Negative Film, Monotone, and High-Contrast Black & White. A Custom Tone option allows users to fine-tune colors and styles based on personal preference.
This strategic partnership with RICOH GR marks a transformative leap in smartphone photography. We are committed to equipping users with a device that embodies freedom, creativity, and authenticity. Beyond the hardware, Realme aims to foster a creative community with this feature. Users will be able to add Ricoh GR-style watermarks, create dedicated GR photo albums, and share personalized tone presets with others.
While the official launch date is yet to be confirmed, reports suggest the Realme GT 8 Pro will debut in China later this month, followed by a global release in November 2026. The phone is also expected to be India’s first device powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
With its Ricoh-inspired camera system, the GT 8 Pro could easily surpass the photographic capabilities of its predecessor, the GT 7 Pro, setting a new benchmark for smartphone photography.
