We’re just two days into the new year, and India’s mid-range smartphone arena is about to witness some significant entries. Xiaomi recently announced the upcoming launch of the Redmi Note 13 series this month. Moreover, the highly anticipated POCO X6 series is set to debut on January 11.
POCO’s launch date for the POCO X6 and X6 Pro was inadvertently revealed on a promotional banner within the Flipkart mobile app, indicating January 11, 2024, as the official release date. The landing page was briefly accessible before being altered to display only the trailer. POCO, however, hasn’t officially confirmed this launch date. Not the ideal start to the year for Flipkart, it seems.
The POCO X6 and X6 Pro serve as the follow-ups to the POCO X5 and X5 Pro released in 2023. According to leaks, the POCO X6, believed to be a Redmi Note 13 Pro rebranded for POCO, is expected to be equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, delivering performance akin to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.
The device is anticipated to boast UFS 3.1 storage and house a 64 MP primary sensor in its camera setup, complemented by a 13 MP Ultrawide lens and a 2 MP macro camera.
The POCO X6 Pro, rumored to be a rebranded Redmi K70E, is anticipated to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC, sharing various specifications with its counterpart. Leaked details suggest the X6 Pro might feature a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel boasting a 120Hz refresh rate. Its camera setup is expected to include a 64MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), alongside an 8MP Ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro shooter. Additionally, the smartphone is rumored to house a 5,000 mAh battery capable of 67W charging.
Exclusive leaks, initially presented by 91Mobiles, provided insights into the rebranding details and color variants. Reportedly, both the POCO X6 and X6 Pro will offer three color options. The X6 might be available in Black, Blue, and White, while the X6 Pro could come in Black, Gray, and Yellow variants.
