The upcoming update for Vivo and iQOO smartphones brings visual enhancements, improved performance, and a wide range of AI-driven tools.
Following its debut in China on October 14, 2025, Vivo has officially launched OriginOS 6 in India. With this release, the new system completely replaces Funtouch OS across Vivo and iQOO devices in the country, arriving with a collection of fresh upgrades.
OriginOS 6 draws inspiration from Apple’s Liquid Glass design
Official Indian websites for Vivo and iQOO now feature dedicated pages for OriginOS 6, showcasing its wide variety of features. Meanwhile, the official OriginOS X account has revealed that the global launch event will be livestreamed on October 16, 2025, via YouTube.

A major highlight of OriginOS 6 is its refined visual identity, which borrows cues from Apple’s Liquid Glass design. It incorporates transparent interface elements, softly curved widgets, and a customisable lock screen with new clock styles that blend effortlessly into wallpapers.

Underneath, Vivo’s Blue River engine delivers a significant performance boost, claiming up to 11% faster app launches and a 57% increase in overall responsiveness.
The update also introduces powerful AI capabilities, including an Object Eraser for Live Photos that removes unwanted moving elements from short clips. Additional AI tools include AI photo expansion, photo unblur, and an AI-based photo editor. The Gallery’s smart search feature makes locating photos and videos much simpler.

Origin Island now supports more apps, benefiting from Android 16’s Live Updates feature. This enhancement enables developers to use Android’s live update framework, allowing all Origin Island-style features to function more efficiently.

Other interface improvements include stackable widgets and grouped notifications, ensuring a cleaner and more organised layout. Furthermore, OriginOS 6 introduces cross-device compatibility with Apple’s ecosystem, enabling users to transfer files seamlessly between OriginOS, macOS, and Windows, as well as mirror phone screens effortlessly.

The stable version of the update is set to roll out in China in October 2025, starting with the Vivo X Fold 5. The Indian release is expected to follow in November 2025, with additional devices such as the Vivo X200 series and iQOO 13 receiving it by the end of 2025.
The upcoming Vivo X300 and iQOO 15 models launching later in 2025 are expected to ship with OriginOS 6 preinstalled.
