OnePlus Introduces OxygenOS 16 In India Featuring Flux Themes 2.0 And Advanced AI Tools

The latest Android 16-based skin officially debuts with a sleek glass-inspired interface, similar to iOS 26’s Liquid Glass design.

At a special event in India, OnePlus unveiled its highly anticipated OxygenOS 16 update. Built on Android 16, the new software delivers enhanced personalization, a range of AI-driven features, improved device connectivity, and a smoother overall experience.

OxygenOS 16 emphasizes customization and AI integration

The update brings a redesigned interface with even smoother transitions and animations. Deeply focused on personalisation, it lets users tailor their phones extensively. The all-new Flux Themes 2.0 enables AI-generated wallpapers, motion photos, depth effects, translucent clocks, and other lock screen customizations.

The home screen follows the same design approach, introducing refined app drawer transitions and subtle icon blur effects. The entire OxygenOS 16 UI presents an elegant interplay of light and shadow, creating a glossy look reminiscent of iOS 26’s Liquid Glass. The Quick Settings panel now includes transparent components, rounded corners, and improved visual cues in native apps like Clock and Calculator.

Additionally, the OnePlus Fluid Cloud—the brand’s version of Apple’s Dynamic Island—has become more practical, supporting apps like YouTube Music, food delivery, and sports platforms.

Beyond visual refinement, most OxygenOS 16 upgrades focus on AI. The AI Efficiency Suite brings a collection of intelligent tools for daily use.

For example, the new AI Writing assistant helps create mind maps, charts, and social media captions, while AI Scan eliminates the need for third-party apps by converting documents, cleaning PDFs, and editing them instantly.

Google Gemini now integrates directly with Mind Space, OnePlus’s productivity-focused AI memory hub first seen on the OnePlus 13 series. This allows users to summon Gemini through the Mind Space key for personalized responses and updates. Every interaction is automatically stored, and users can organize and edit saved AI information.

With OxygenOS 16, OnePlus clearly concentrates on AI innovation and visual design, but performance enhancements are also notable. Parallel Processing 2.0—an upgraded version of the feature introduced in OxygenOS 15—further refines system animations. The new animation engine ensures seamless transitions between apps and screens, maintaining a fluid, continuous gesture flow throughout the interface.

Ecosystem connectivity also sees major improvements. The O+ Connect feature, previously launched with ColorOS 16 in China, is now included in OxygenOS 16. It allows OnePlus devices to link effortlessly with Windows PCs and Macs, enabling remote desktop control, wireless file transfers, app mirroring, and more.

OxygenOS 16 will debut on the OnePlus 15 in India and start rolling out to compatible devices from November 2025. The first models to receive the update include the OnePlus 13, 13r, 13s, and OnePlus Pad 3, among others.
