The premium smartphone might feature an under-display selfie camera while promising a complete flagship-level experience.
Chinese smartphone maker Nubia appears to be gearing up for the debut of its next flagship — Nubia Z80 Ultra. Although the device remains in the early rumour phase, new leaks have revealed significant information about its battery and other specifications.
As per tipster Panda is very bald, the upcoming Nubia Z80 Ultra is likely to house a 7,200mAh battery supported by 90W fast USB-C charging.
Despite accommodating such a large battery, the smartphone is expected to retain a slim and lightweight design, measuring 7.8mm in thickness and weighing 225 grams. If accurate, this would mark a major design refinement over the Nubia Z70 Ultra (2024).
To put it in perspective, the previous model carried a 6,150mAh battery, measuring 8.6mm thick and weighing 228 grams. Hence, the Z80 Ultra would be trimming 0.8mm in thickness and 3 grams in weight, all while adding 1,050mAh of extra battery capacity.
Nubia Z80 Ultra Expected to Feature an Under-Display Front Camera
The Nubia Z60 series (2023) was the first in the lineup to include an under-display selfie camera, offering an immersive viewing experience and refined aesthetics. Continuing that legacy, the Z80 Ultra is anticipated to retain this feature, keeping the series’ signature element intact.
In addition, the phone is rumoured to boast a 144Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, while being powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor — similar to its predecessor, the Z70 Ultra.
Based on earlier leaks, the device might come equipped with a triple rear camera system featuring a 50MP primary sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and an OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto lens.
However, as these details are not yet confirmed, it’s advisable to take them cautiously. The Nubia Z80 Ultra is expected to launch on October 22, 2025, in China, with colour variants including Phantom Black, Glacial White, and a Starry Night Collector’s Edition.
