The native Nothing Gallery app has introduced a set of much-needed video editing features.
It’s clear that Nothing’s Gallery app wasn’t very feature-rich, but the company has started improving it seriously. Recently, some essential image-editing tools were added, and now the focus has shifted to video editing, giving Nothing Phone users much more control.
Nothing Gallery App gets colour grading, filters, and more
Akis Evangelidis, Co-founder of Nothing, shared the update news on his official X account.
With this update, the Nothing Gallery app moves beyond simple trimming or slow-motion edits. Videos can now be edited like photos. Here’s what’s new:
- Basic adjustments including six cropping and rotation options
- Colour grading with twelve parameters to fine-tune contrast, white balance, saturation, and more
- Ten Nothing-designed filters with adjustable intensity
Most importantly, Akis mentions, “Everything is processed locally on-device, with no metadata removed or hidden post-processing.” Plus, Ultra XDR videos retain HDR data even after colour edits or filters — something most third-party apps don’t manage.

The Gallery app also includes subtle haptic feedback for every tweak, making the editing process more satisfying and intuitive.
It seems Nothing is trying to bring its video and photo editing tools closer to the level of third-party editors. The recent updates to the built-in editing tools show progress, transforming the app from a simple image viewer into a fully usable editor.
The new video editing update for the Nothing Gallery app is now available on the Google Play Store for all Nothing Phone users. Akis also teased “more exciting features on the way.”
