Natlan Update in Genshin Impact to Decrease Visual Performance on Older Devices

Genshin Impact’s forthcoming Natlan update, set for version 5.0 and following 4.7, promises to be monumental, possibly surpassing the Fontaine update. Centered around the Pyro Archon, it marks a significant narrative expansion for the game. Developers are gearing up for an extensive visual revamp, reflecting their commitment to elevating the game’s experience.

Genshin Impact’s latest announcement on their official X (Twitter) account preps players for an upcoming visual overhaul slated for version 5.0. The update will bring enhancements to both visuals and functionality, signaling increased performance demands for players.

Players using older devices can rest assured as the minimum requirements for version 5.0 will remain unchanged. To achieve this, the developers intend to employ more stringent performance optimization tactics and scale down visual features for compatibility with older devices. Devices expected to experience reduced visual performance include:

  • iOS devices equipped with an A12 processor (or earlier models)
  • Android devices featuring a Snapdragon 865, Dimensity 1200 (8050), Kirin 9000SL, or Samsung Exynos 1080 processor (or earlier)
  • PlayStation 4 Series (all models)

The update aims to decrease the resolution of smaller object details and reduce the effect range of certain special effects to improve performance on older devices. What do you think about these changes?
