Microsoft’s Bing Image Creator has become a popular choice for generating AI images at no cost. Now, the company is hinting at an upcoming feature that will let users create AI-generated videos using OpenAI’s Sora model through Bing Video Creator. This new tool is currently being teased on desktop and in the Bing app for Android and iOS.

First reported by Windows Latest, Bing Video Creator is currently in Beta and lets users generate AI videos from simple text prompts. Unlike OpenAI’s Sora, which is limited to ChatGPT’s paid users, Bing’s tool is completely free to use. Plus, those with sufficient Microsoft Rewards points can enjoy faster video generation. You can try it out at bing.com/create.

To use Bing Video Creator, you’ll need to sign in with your Microsoft account. Microsoft has also implemented safeguards to block harmful or inappropriate prompts automatically. Additionally, all AI-generated videos include C2PA metadata, making it easier to identify content created using AI.

At the moment, Bing Video Creator doesn’t support image uploads for generating AI videos. It appears Microsoft is encouraging users to try the tool by offering access to OpenAI’s Sora model at no cost. That said, unlike Sora which allows uploads of people and scene images Bing Video Creator is currently limited to processing only text prompts.

When it comes to AI video generation, Sora is no longer leading the pack. According to the Artificial Analysis Video Arena Leaderboard, Sora currently sits in 5th place with an ELO score of 1050. Meanwhile, Google’s impressive Veo 3 model holds the top spot with a score of 1272 and it’s capable of generating audio along with video.
