The upcoming chipset will reportedly be built using TSMC’s advanced 3nm N3E process and may debut in Q1 2026.
The competition among top-tier smartphone processors is already heating up, and it’s soon expected to expand into the semi-flagship category. As Qualcomm gears up to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, MediaTek is preparing to introduce the Dimensity 9500e, details of which have recently surfaced online.
Dimensity 9500e Set to Compete with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5
According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming SoC, nicknamed “Dimensity 9400++”, is said to be a refined version of the Dimensity 9400+, MediaTek’s flagship processor from early 2025. The chipset is expected to launch during the first quarter of 2026.

Leaked information reveals that the new processor prototype features an octa-core setup consisting of one Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. It is also said to include a Mali G925 MP12 GPU running at 1612MHz, fabricated using TSMC’s 3nm N3E node.
The hardware specifications appear almost identical to those of the Dimensity 9400+. Since MediaTek aims to market this as a sub-flagship SoC, smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9500e are expected to deliver excellent performance at a more affordable price point. The overall performance could closely match that of current Dimensity 9400-based devices.

Digital Chat Station further mentions that the CPU, GPU, and cache configurations are nearly the same as the Dimensity 9400+. The first smartphones featuring the Dimensity 9500e are expected to be premium flagships boasting large batteries, high-end displays, and top-notch build quality.
In summary, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500e is rumoured to launch in early 2026. Meanwhile, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, featuring Oryon V3 cores and TSMC’s enhanced N3P process, is anticipated to outperform it.
