
The wait is over! Microsoft has officially unveiled the new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro, powered by the Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus chipsets. These ARM-based Surface devices are set to compete directly with Apple’s MacBook Air M3. Branded as Copilot+ PCs, the new lineup boasts an integrated NPU with processing speeds exceeding 40 TOPS.
Copilot+ Surface Laptop, 7th Edition
The Copilot+ Surface Laptop is available in two sizes: 13.8-inch and 15-inch, and comes in four colors. The 13.8-inch version is offered in Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus variants, while the 15-inch version is equipped with the Snapdragon X Elite chipset only. All three Surface laptops feature a built-in Hexagon NPU, delivering performance of up to 45 TOPS.

Microsoft claims that the new Copilot+ Surface Laptop can deliver up to 22 hours of battery life when playing local videos, and up to 15 hours of active web usage. Additionally, it can seamlessly drive three 4K monitors. Compared to the last-gen Surface Laptop 5, the new Copilot+ Surface Laptop is 80% faster.
The laptop features a touchscreen HDR Dolby Vision IQ display, and the webcam is now positioned inside the thin bezel. It offers 16GB or 32GB of LPPDR5X RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB of Gen4 SSD.

Copilot+ Surface Pro, 11th Edition
The Copilot+ Surface Pro is a significant leap forward, boasting 90% faster performance than the last-gen Surface Pro 9, thanks to the Snapdragon X Elite chipset. It comes in two variants: one with the Snapdragon X Elite chipset and an OLED display, and another with the Snapdragon X Plus chipset and an LCD display. Both variants feature the Hexagon NPU with a processing speed of 45 TOPS.

The new Copilot+ Surface Pro features a stunning 13-inch HDR OLED touchscreen display, a first for the Surface Pro lineup. However, it’s important to note that there’s also a variant with an LCD display. In terms of battery life, you can expect around 14 hours of local video playback and 10 hours of web browsing.
Microsoft boasts that the device sports the best-in-class ultrawide rear camera, capable of 4K video capture. It also offers Wi-Fi 7 and optional 5G support. Additionally, you can choose between 16GB or 32GB of RAM and Gen4 SSD storage ranging from 256GB to 1TB.
