Honor has revealed a sneak peek of an innovative concept device called the Robot Phone, featuring a mechanical camera capable of independent movement.
A self-aware phone with robotic capabilities
The company shared promotional videos and posts teasing a futuristic smartphone unlike any current model. According to the teaser, the Robot Phone will include a motorized camera that emerges from the rear and moves autonomously via a robotic arm.

The camera system appears capable of tracking subjects, scanning items, and even engaging in playful gestures such as waving or interacting with its environment. The device seems to incorporate AI-driven contextual awareness throughout.
The camera is enclosed in a circular glass casing and can rotate freely, possibly adjusting angles automatically for photos and videos. The Robot Phone also includes a USB-C port on the module itself, potentially supporting modular attachments or charging. Honor describes the device as combining the “mobility of a robot” with the “intelligence of AI,” envisioning a smartphone camera that functions like a personal assistant.

Although exact specifications remain unconfirmed, sources indicate Honor may officially present the Robot Phone at MWC 2026 in Barcelona.
While the concept is intriguing, it also raises concerns regarding practicality and battery efficiency. The Robot Phone aims to merge smartphone technology with robotics, creating a new category of “self-aware” devices.
