Straddling the line between a smartphone and a feature phone, the HMD Touch 4G introduces a new category of mobile devices.
HMD, the company behind the Nokia brand, has launched this innovative Hybrid Phone, combining the simplicity of a feature phone with some elements of smartphone functionality in a compact design. Below is a complete overview of its specifications, pricing, and availability.
HMD Touch 4G: Compact and Distinctive
The HMD Touch 4G stands out as a truly unique device in today’s smartphone landscape. Featuring a metal unibody design with smoothly rounded, nearly cylindrical edges, it measures just 102.3 mm in length. At first look, its design evokes memories of the iPod Shuffle (minus the screen) and bears a close resemblance to the Nokia Asha series launched back in 2012.

The front of the Touch 4G houses a 3.2-inch QVGA touchscreen framed by relatively thick bezels. At the top, next to the selfie camera, sits a slim earpiece, while the bottom chin area features a combined home and power button.
On top of the device, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack along with what HMD calls the “Quick-Call” button. This feature allows users to instantly record voice messages and can also serve as an emergency alert trigger.

Under the hood, the HMD Touch 4G is powered by the budget-friendly Unisoc T127 processor, accompanied by 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of internal storage. Unlike typical smartphones, it doesn’t run on Android; instead, it uses a custom RTOS Touch operating system designed specifically for touchscreen functionality and app usage.
For communication, users can install the Express Chat app from the Play Store. Other features, such as video playback, radio, messaging, gallery, and games, are supported through the device’s Cloud Phone Service.

Despite its compact size, the HMD Touch 4G houses a removable 1,950mAh battery, charged via a USB-C port at the bottom. HMD claims the device can deliver up to 30 hours of battery life on a single charge.
In terms of connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and 4G networks. Priced at Rs 3,999, it is currently available for purchase on the HMD India website. For anyone seeking a stylish device that can also serve as a reliable secondary phone, the Touch 4G presents a compelling option under Rs 5,000.
