Helldivers 2 Possibly Coming to Xbox: Rumor

Helldivers 2 has gained significant acclaim among PlayStation 5 and PC players, attracting a growing community eager to uphold Democracy. Yet, Xbox enthusiasts have long pondered whether this beloved co-op game will ever arrive on Microsoft’s platform, given its roots as a PlayStation-published title. However, the possibility of Helldivers 2 landing on Xbox might not be as unlikely as once thought.

According to recent reports, Sony is considering bringing Helldivers 2 to Xbox. Insider Shpesal_Nick mentioned on the latest episode of the XboxEra podcast that there have been initial talks about the possibility of Helldivers 2 joining Xbox Game Pass.

He suggests that with Hiroki Totoki assuming the role of interim CEO at PlayStation, there could be a slight willingness within the company to explore multiplatform strategies. However, Nick also cautioned against jumping to conclusions, emphasizing that the discussions were in their early stages. Therefore, it’s possible that both companies may not reach an agreement.

Honestly, the idea of Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox wouldn’t shock me. Let’s face it: companies are increasingly open to embracing multiplatform approaches. While Nintendo remains committed to keeping its IPs exclusive to its system, which has proven successful for them, platforms like Xbox are gradually expanding into multiplatform releases, with four titles already making their way to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

Considering PlayStation’s recent ventures into publishing titles for PC and the multiplatform release of the annual MLB game, including on Xbox, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for Sony to pursue this. Moreover, given Helldivers 2’s live service model, it could be advantageous for PlayStation to expand its player base, potentially increasing revenue from in-game purchases like Warbonds and Super Credits.

So, what’s your take? Do you think Helldivers 2 stands a chance of launching on Xbox? Would you be interested in purchasing and playing it if you own an Xbox Series X/S? Drop your opinions in the comments box underneath.
