As you may have noticed, Rockstar Games tends to release its major titles during the fall months. The only exception to this pattern is GTA 4, which launched in April 2008. Aside from that, four of their major titles were released in the last two weeks of October, and three in November. With this trend in mind, it’s likely that GTA 6 will be released in the final months of 2025.

Take-Two is already gearing up to release Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country in 2025. With Mafia scheduled for summer and Borderlands 4 arriving in September, we can further narrow down the release window for GTA 6. Since these major titles are set for earlier in the year, it’s likely that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be reserved for the year’s end.

While some speculate that a second GTA 6 trailer could drop soon to confirm the exact release date, Rockstar has remained silent so far. Based on the studio’s release history, October or November seems the most probable launch window for the game.

GTA 6 Might Release on Tuesday

Since the release of GTA Vice City, every major GTA title has launched on a Tuesday, and there’s no reason to expect Rockstar to break this pattern with GTA 6. Additionally, considering the game is rumored to be based on Vice City, one significant Tuesday in 2025 could be the 23rd anniversary of GTA Vice City. That would fall on October 28, just one day before October 29, which is a Wednesday. However, there’s no way to say for sure if this anniversary will mark a specific release date or simply lead to another unrelated announcement.

GTA 6 Release Could Be Delayed

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged in an interview that the possibility of a release date delay is always a concern. Speaking to IGN, he said, “We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs.” However, the parent company behind GTA 6 has consistently reaffirmed the Fall 2025 release window. While we’re hopeful, if things go off course, there’s a chance GTA 6 could be delayed to early 2026.
