The Hero 12 Black shares a resemblance with its predecessor but incorporates several notable changes. The camera now offers HDR support in both 5.3K and 4K resolutions. The camera features a GP2 processor and a 27.13MP image sensor for capturing photos, and it can extract 24.69MP stills from videos. The larger image sensor allows for recording in both wide and vertical formats, catering to various video usage scenarios. Similar to the Hero 11 Black, this camera can record 5.3K videos at 60fps and 4K videos at 120fps, with support for the 8:7 aspect ratio.
This action camera boasts an upgraded HyperSmooth 6.0 video stabilization technology, offering the widest frame while ensuring steady video footage. Additionally, it includes a built-in Horizon Lock feature to maintain the horizon even during a full 360-degree rotation.
The Hero 12 Black offers support for creating up to 8x slow-motion videos at 240fps, with a resolution of 2.7K. It is capable of delivering videos with 10-bit colors and features GP Log + LUTS for enhanced color grading options. This action camera is waterproof up to 33 feet and includes a water-repelling lens cover to ensure clear recording underwater.
