Samsung’s next flagship appears to draw some inspiration from the iPhone 17 Pro.
The forthcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra is shaping up to be an intriguing addition to Samsung’s lineup. With anticipated upgrades in specifications and design tweaks, the device has been generating a lot of buzz online. A recent leak of a Galaxy S26 Ultra dummy unit offers the first unofficial glimpse of the phone in a real-world setting, along with its potential colour options.
A New “Bold” Choice Emerges for Fans
Reddit user r/samsunggalaxy recently shared an image showcasing the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra in three fresh colour variants. One of them is a Silver option, closely resembling the Titanium Silver seen on the Galaxy S25 Edge. Another shade appears to be Gold, although the hue may vary depending on the angle of the image.

However, the standout among the new colours is the Dark Orange variant in the center, which immediately catches the eye. It’s hard not to notice the obvious inspiration behind this bold choice.
Just last month, Apple introduced the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max in a Cosmic Orange finish. The shade on the Galaxy S26 Ultra appears to closely mirror that hue, making the resemblance nearly exact.

Even if the Galaxy S26 Ultra faces “copycat” claims over this new colour, it wouldn’t be Samsung’s first attempt at an orange-hued phone. The Galaxy S24 Ultra already featured a Titanium Orange variant, which is a Samsung-exclusive option available only through direct purchases from the brand. This shade is still listed on the Samsung India website and can be bought directly.

The issue isn’t that Samsung is releasing another orange smartphone—it’s more about the timing and the overall look. Browsing through the Reddit comments on the post, it’s clear that many fans are not pleased. Maintaining a distinct brand identity is crucial, rather than repeatedly drawing inspiration from competitors.
As of now, the authenticity of this leak remains uncertain. Still, considering current trends among Android smartphone brands, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Galaxy S26 Ultra eventually launched with this new Orange colour option.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, likely paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The device is also anticipated to retain a 5,000 mAh battery, with improved charging speeds up to 60 W. Additionally, it may support the 25 W Qi2.2 wireless charging standard. On the camera front, fans can look forward to a 200 MP main sensor, a 50 MP 5x periscope lens, a 50 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10 MP 3x telephoto sensor, which appears to be a slight downgrade from its predecessor.
