Epic Games is known for announcing every Fortnite update, but in a surprising move, two new movement mechanics from Chapter 6 Season 1 have quietly been vaulted. Wall Kick and Roll Landing, introduced in the update, have now been removed from all Epic-made shooter modes like Battle Royale and Zero Build, without prior notice.
Though there was no official confirmation earlier, the official Fortnite Status account has now clarified the removal, stating, “We’ve disabled the Wall Kick and Roll Landing movement features introduced in C6S1 across all Epic shooter modes, including Battle Royale and Zero Build.”
Players Frustrated Over Fortnite’s Silent Removal of Movement Mechanics
The removal of Wall Kick and Roll Landing from Fortnite, introduced in Chapter 6 Season 1, has sparked frustration among players. This change came as part of the Chapter 6 Season 3 update, but there was no prior mention of it, leaving the community surprised and upset. Many players feel the current map was designed with these mechanics in mind, leading to comments like, “So we’re stuck with a map designed with this movement in mind. Without the movement. Awesome.” The lack of communication from Epic Games has only added to the frustration.
Another player expressed their frustration, saying, “Because f*** movement! Get your a*s around the map by cars and launchpads…and the occasional shockwave if you can find ‘em.” While no detailed explanation has been provided for the removal, the sudden and unexpected change has left the community upset. The advanced movement mechanics introduced in Fortnite C6S1 were designed to complement the current map, making their removal even more disappointing.
