The rumors were confirmed as Apple unveiled the highly anticipated iPhone Air alongside the iPhone 17 lineup at today’s “Awe Dropping” event at the Steve Jobs Theatre. This ultra-slim device measures just 5.5 mm in thickness, features Apple’s latest A19 Pro chipset, and comes with a ProMotion display. Here’s a complete look at the iPhone Air’s specifications, pricing, and availability.

iPhone Air Becomes the Thinnest iPhone Ever

The iPhone Air brings several firsts to Apple’s smartphone lineup. It is the first iPhone to carry the Air name and is also the slimmest iPhone to date, measuring just 5.6 mm in thickness and weighing 165 grams. The device features a glass and aluminum construction, with Ceramic Shield 2 on the front and Ceramic Shield on the back for added protection.

The iPhone Air retains the Camera Control button introduced with the iPhone 16 lineup. It features a large 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with 120 Hz ProMotion and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

On the back, the iPhone Air houses a 48 MP Fusion camera with sensor-shift OIS, featuring a single-lens setup similar to the iPhone 16e released earlier this year. The front sports an 18 MP selfie camera with Center Stage support. Both front and rear cameras are capable of recording 4K video at 60 FPS.

Despite its ultra-thin design, the iPhone Air showcases Apple’s engineering innovation with a silicon-carbon battery that offers up to 27 hours of video playback, according to official estimates. It can reach 50% charge in just 30 minutes, and Apple has also introduced a dedicated battery pack for the Air, extending its capacity up to 40 hours.
