At today’s WWDC 2025 event, Apple revealed a range of new AI features for Apple Intelligence. One highlight is Live Translation, which can translate FaceTime and phone calls in real-time. During FaceTime calls, translated captions appear on-screen, while phone call translations are spoken aloud as the conversation happens.
Additionally, the Messages app now automatically translates messages as you type, delivering them in the recipient’s preferred language. This feature is powered by Apple’s on-device AI models, ensuring that all processing happens locally so “users’ personal conversations stay personal,” according to Apple.
Next up, Image Playground part of Apple Intelligence is gaining ChatGPT-powered image creation. Now, you can generate images in various styles like oil painting, vector art, and more using ChatGPT. Regarding this integration, Apple emphasizes, “Users are always in control, and nothing is shared with ChatGPT without their permission.”
Additionally, with the Visual Intelligence upgrade, you can interact with anything displayed on your screen. You can highlight objects and ask ChatGPT questions about what you’re seeing. You can also search platforms like Google, Etsy, and other supported apps for more details. Plus, you can even pull calendar events directly from the live screen.
Apple Intelligence is also making its way to the Apple Watch with an AI-powered Workout Buddy. Using your fitness data, it acts as a personalized workout companion, offering motivational insights. It even features a text-to-speech model that generates a voice tailored to match your energy and style.
Regarding availability, Apple states that all these new features are “available for testing starting today through the Apple Developer Program.” A public beta will roll out next month for eligible devices.
