Following iPad Pro, iPhone 17 to Feature ‘Significantly Thinner’ Design: Report

We are still months away from the release of the iPhone 16 series, and yet rumors about the iPhone 17 have already begun to surface. According to the latest report from The Information, the 2025 iPhones are set to bring a major refresh. Apple appears to be drawing inspiration from its recently released thinnest product, the M4 iPad Pro.

The paywalled report suggests that Apple is planning to introduce an entirely new model in the iPhone 17 series, which will be ‘significantly thinner’ compared to other models and will be priced higher than the Pro Max model. This new slim variant is expected to take design cues from the iPhone X.

In a significant departure from previous designs, the cameras on this model will be positioned in the top-center of the back. Since the iPhone X, Apple has typically placed rear cameras in the top-left corner. This new placement could result in a camera module reminiscent of the Google Pixel.

Other anticipated design changes include a thinner Dynamic Island, an aluminum chassis, and a display size ranging between 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches.

Regarding the internals, the slim iPhone 17 model will feature an A19 chipset and an enhanced selfie camera. With these upgrades, the model could be priced above $1,199, which is the current price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

It’s important to note that we are still more than a year away from the release of the iPhone 17 series, and these rumors may or may not come to fruition. Therefore, it’s wise to take this information with a grain of salt.
