iOS 18 Compatible Devices
Typically, Apple provides software updates to its iPhones for about five years. Each year, some older iPhones are usually dropped from the list of compatible devices. However, this didn’t happen in 2024. As expected, iOS 18 is compatible with all the iPhones that currently support iOS 17. Consequently, even the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max, which were launched back in 2018, are included in the list of iOS 18 compatible devices.
The following iPhone models will receive the iOS 18 update:
- iPhone SE (2nd & 3rd generation)
- iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 12, 12 mini
- iPhone 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 13, 13 mini
- iPhone 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 14, 14 Plus
- iPhone 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 15, 15 Plus
- iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max
Moreover, all models of the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup will come with iOS 18 pre-installed.
Currently, iOS 18 is available as a Developer Beta, with the Public Beta expected to arrive in late June or early July. In September, Apple will release the polished version of iOS 18 to the public, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 16 series.
