As Honkai Star Rail continues to introduce new characters at a rapid pace, powercreep has become a growing concern among players. The recent release of Castorice and Anaxa, both boasting game-breaking abilities, has only intensified these worries. Additionally, recent updates have steadily increased enemy bosses’ max health in Memory of Chaos, making it even harder for older characters to keep up. Fearing that their favorite units would become obsolete, the community voiced their concerns and now, the developers have responded. In the upcoming version 3.4 update, Honkai Star Rail will introduce buffs to older characters, aiming to restore balance and ensure they remain viable in high-level content.
During the Honkai Star Rail 3.2 livestream, it was announced that Silver Wolf, Kafka, Blade, and Jingliu will receive buffs in the 3.4 update. These four characters have struggled to keep up with the game’s powercreep, gradually losing their effectiveness over time.
This is a much-needed initiative, as these characters are fan favorites but have become nearly unusable in the game’s toughest challenges. Silver Wolf, in particular, has suffered the most, with the newly released Anaxa completely overshadowing her.
While the developers had previously hinted at plans to buff older characters, it’s reassuring to finally have a concrete timeline rather than vague promises. However, the specifics of these buffs remain unclear whether they will be simple stat increases or full reworks is yet to be revealed.
