Supra will unveil the Moonshot consensus mechanism at DSN 2024

As per a press release sourced by reporters, Supra’s team will showcase the Moonshot whitepaper at the event, detailing the consensus mechanism and illustrating its groundbreaking impact on the blockchain sector. The presentation will include a comparative analysis between Moonshot and Jolteon, a prominent decentralized consensus algorithm recognized for its exceptional performance.

In November 2023, Microsoft’s IVy Verifier officially validated Moonshot. The algorithms within the system were engineered to thwart forking, ensuring stability as long as malicious validators comprise less than a third of its network.

Supra has risen to prominence within the blockchain sector thanks to its Distributed Oracle Agreement (DORA), a system that seamlessly incorporates real-world data into blockchain networks. Addressing Byzantine faults and ensuring data integrity, DORA plays a crucial role in enhancing blockchain functionality, particularly for smart contracts within Web3 ecosystems.

Byzantine fault tolerance assesses a system’s capacity to sustain operation despite the failure of one or more of its components.

Moonshot has attained a remarkable processing rate of 530,000 transactions per second across its network of 125 nodes distributed worldwide. Additionally, it demonstrates optimistic finality within 500 milliseconds and achieves full block finality between 1.5 to 2 seconds, surpassing numerous other consensus mechanisms available in the market.

The DSN 2024 conference is scheduled to take place at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, spanning from June 24th to 27th.

About Supra

Supra stands as a robust platform tailored to meet the diverse needs of blockchain development. It harmoniously incorporates oracles, bridges, automation, and randomness into a resilient Layer-1 framework compatible with MultiVM. This versatility empowers developers with a sturdy infrastructure for crafting and launching decentralized applications, facilitating flexibility and scalability through support for multiple virtual machines.

It equips developers with the necessary tools to craft sophisticated decentralized applications (dApps) while extending oracle price feeds and verifiable randomness services securely across multiple blockchains at Layer-1.

Supra is pushing boundaries with its latest innovation, the DAG-based protocol called Sailfish. Designed to elevate latency performance, Sailfish, when integrated with the Moonshot consensus algorithm, anticipates substantial enhancements in overall system performance.
