OpenAI has officially brought ChatGPT to WhatsApp, along with direct call support. You can now interact with the official ChatGPT on WhatsApp without the need for third-party chatbots. The best part is, it’s completely free, and there’s no need to sign up or link your OpenAI account. It’s also available in all regions. OpenAI is using the GPT-4o mini model on WhatsApp, and in my testing, it responds to queries quite quickly. Let’s take a look at the steps to get started.

  • Save “1-800-2428478” to your phone’s contacts to get started.
  • Alternatively, scan the QR code below to begin chatting with ChatGPT on WhatsApp.

  • As shown below, I asked ChatGPT on WhatsApp to generate a recipe for an egg sandwich. It works smoothly, and the response speed is impressively fast.

Keep in mind that ChatGPT on WhatsApp doesn’t yet support multimodal queries it can’t generate or process images or PDFs. However, many more ChatGPT features will be arriving on WhatsApp in the future, and users will be able to link their ChatGPT accounts to access premium features.
