Google has revealed during Google I/O that Gemini will soon be introduced to Google Photos as a feature named Ask Photos, promising to streamline the photo-searching process. Here’s a comprehensive overview of its upcoming release and availability.
While Google Photos already possesses the capability to recognize text within photos, locating a specific photo containing that text among many can be time-consuming. The “Ask Photos” feature is designed to address this challenge effectively.
Gemini in Google Photos is set to revolutionize photo searching by offering a more personalized search experience. During the event, Google demonstrated examples such as “What’s my license plate number again?” “Show me the progress of Lucia’s swimming,” both of which produced accurate and personalized photo results.
According to Pichai, Ask Photos will be gradually rolled out with additional functionalities later this summer. Since its launch 9 years ago, Google Photos has seen an impressive upload rate of over 6 billion photos daily.
