CES 2025: Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Is A Rollable Laptop Coming Soon For Purchase.

Among laptop manufacturers, Lenovo is renowned for its quirky yet innovative technology. From the ThinkPad X1 Fold to dual-screen Yoga laptops and rollable screens, they’ve pushed boundaries. Their latest offering, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, stands out as their best yet and will soon be available to consumers.

Showcased at CES 2025, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 features a rollable screen. When closed, it appears to be a standard 14-inch laptop with a 2K resolution. However, pressing a dedicated key unrolls the screen into a large tablet-like display with a resolution of 2000 x 2350. This 120Hz OLED display boasts 400 nits of brightness and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

When fully unrolled, the display expands to a sizable 16.7 inches, providing an additional 50% screen space, equivalent to two stacked 14-inch displays. The laptop measures 19.9mm in thickness and weighs 1.7kg.

The rollable mechanism is rated for up to 20,000 rolls, offering durability. Equipped with Core Ultra processors, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 is classified as a Copilot+ PC. It also includes two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports and Wi-Fi 7, alongside a respectable 66 Wh battery.

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 will be available in June 2025, priced at $3,499. While this may seem steep, it’s typical for first-generation concept products, and it offers more utility than some similar-priced gadgets that lack genuine innovation.

What do you think of the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6? Should Windows laptops follow this direction in the future? Share your thoughts in the comments.
