On the 10th day of the “12 Days of OpenAI” announcements, OpenAI unveiled direct call support for ChatGPT. Now, you can call ChatGPT on your phone and converse using your voice, just like a regular voice call. OpenAI mentions that if you’re experiencing a weak internet connection or using an older feature phone, you can simply dial 1-800-2428478 to talk to ChatGPT.
Keep in mind, this feature is currently available only to users with US phone numbers. OpenAI has set a limit of 15 minutes per month for ChatGPT calls, which is a bit on the lower side, but it still offers an intriguing approach to enhancing AI accessibility.
In addition, users can now officially chat with ChatGPT on WhatsApp. Simply save 1-800-2428478 as a contact to start chatting. The great news is that ChatGPT is available worldwide on WhatsApp. It uses the GPT-4o mini model and supports text-only interactions. However, features like image analysis or PDF uploads are not available through ChatGPT’s WhatsApp chat.
OpenAI has announced that more ChatGPT features will be coming to WhatsApp. In the future, you’ll be able to link your ChatGPT Plus account to WhatsApp for access to premium features. So, will you be calling ChatGPT for assistance? Let us know in the comments below!
