The update appears to introduce the new Quick Settings menu, which has been in development since the release of Nothing OS 2.5. In addition to the changelog, someone on Reddit has shared images of the new menu, and it looks impressive.

We also see the first official mention of new lock screen clock customizations and an updated setup wizard. The new UI will offer various clock styles and allow for further resizing to accommodate more widgets. It features auto-adjustment and is being referred to as the Dynamic Clock by Nothing.

In addition to the changes mentioned, the Settings app now features a new, cleaner UI with segmented options. A stylish shade appears at the top of the screen when accessing different settings, enhancing the overall look. There’s also a new charging assistant feature that alerts you if your phone isn’t charging at an optimal speed.

We also have Android 15-specific support for app archiving, predictive back animations, and partial screen recording. The other features are relatively minor but still offer noteworthy improvements.

We’re still curious about the timeline for the other features Carl Pei mentioned on X a few months ago, such as the Nothing Community and Gallery apps, as well as Private Space, which is an Android 15 feature expected to be included in Nothing OS.

This may not be the final beta update for Nothing OS 3.0, and it’s possible that some features are still in development and will be rolled out a few months after the stable release of Nothing OS 3.0.

Currently, it seems that Nothing is preparing for an October release, and the new version is shaping up to be quite exciting! What are your thoughts on Nothing OS? Share your opinions in the comments below.
