Gamescom 2024 was expected to be a blast, and it certainly started off with a bang. The keynote event began with the surprise announcement of Borderlands 4.
The teaser opens with the 2K Games logo and Gearbox Entertainment, signaling that chaos is on the horizon with the upcoming Borderlands 4. It features a meteor shower culminating in a massive crash, which reveals the iconic Psycho Bandit mask—indicating the return of this fan-favorite character.
After Gearbox Entertainment’s acquisition by Take-Two, fans have eagerly awaited a new Borderlands game. Despite the disappointing performance of the Borderlands movie at the box office, the game series remains a beloved cult classic.
Borderlands 4 is set to release in 2025, and the Steam wishlist is already open. The game will be available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
