Capcom Announces New Resident Evil Game in Development
Resident Evil, a beloved horror game franchise spanning decades, recently returned with the Resident Evil 4 remake. Since then, fans have eagerly awaited news about the franchise’s next steps.
During the latest Capcom Next Showcase, amidst previews of upcoming games like Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, game director Koshi Nakanishi confirmed that a new Resident Evil game is officially in development. Nakanishi, known for his roles in Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D, and directing Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil 7, has been instrumental in the series’ resurgence.
Nakanishi acknowledged the difficulty of developing a fresh concept post-Resident Evil 7. Nonetheless, he persevered and conceptualized a significant new project, marking Capcom’s next venture into the Resident Evil universe.
