Earlier this year, Samsung introduced its premium Galaxy S24 series at its Unpacked event. Now, six months later, the brand is gearing up to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 foldable phones in the second chapter of Unpacked. According to a leak from the well-known and credible tipster Evan Blass, the event is scheduled for July 30, which is about 26 days away.
Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 in August. This year, an earlier launch seems strategic, given the growing excitement around foldable phones, especially after the recent release of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro.
Additionally, OnePlus is preparing to launch the second iteration of the OnePlus Open early next year. By unveiling their foldables sooner, Samsung aims to capture market attention and gain a competitive edge. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to be the highlight of the event, with various rumors providing insight into its anticipated specifications.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Expected Specifications and Price
Unfortunately, rumors and reports indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will closely resemble its predecessor, albeit with a lighter design. Significant design changes are not expected. When folded, the dimensions are said to be 153.5 x 68.1 x 12.1mm, and when unfolded, 153.5 x 132.6 x 5.6mm.
However, it will feature a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and is expected to come with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
The downside is that the Z Fold 6 might still come with a similar 4,400mAh battery, so don’t expect major improvements in that area. The camera setup is also likely to remain unchanged, featuring a 50MP primary sensor.
The displays are rumored to be slightly larger this time, featuring a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120Hz cover screen (2376 x 968) and a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120Hz inner display (2160 x 1856).
Regarding pricing, rumors suggest a $100 increase compared to its predecessor. This would price the base 256GB variant at $1899.99, the 512GB variant at $2019.99, and the 1TB variant at $2259.99.
This is the extent of what we currently know about the Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, take this information with a grain of salt until we receive official confirmation from Samsung. Are you excited about Samsung’s upcoming foldables? Let me know in the comments below!
