Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce a new smart TV under the Redmi brand in India. The upcoming Redmi Smart Fire TV, which runs on Fire OS rather than Google TV or Android TV, will complement the previously launched 32-inch Redmi Smart Fire TV from March. Here are the key details and the official launch date.
New Redmi Smart TV Running Fire OS
Xiaomi has officially revealed that the Redmi Smart Fire TV with a 43-inch display and 4K support will make its debut in India on September 15. The launch event will take place online, and viewers can catch it via the company’s YouTube channel. A dedicated microsite has also been set up to provide a glimpse of what to expect from the new TV.
The upcoming Redmi Smart TV boasts a 43-inch screen with 4K resolution and features a bezel-less design with a slim frame, promising an immersive viewing experience. While specific details about other features are still limited, the TV is expected to offer various connectivity options.
On the software side, it is likely to run Fire OS 7, similar to its 32-inch counterpart, providing access to popular apps like YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix, and more. It’s anticipated to support Apple AirPlay and Miracast for screen mirroring.
In terms of specifications, the 43-inch model might share similarities with the 32-inch version, featuring Redmi’s image processing algorithm, Vivid Picture Engine (VPE), and ALLM support. It could be equipped with a quad-core processor, increased RAM and storage, as well as support for Dolby Audio and DTS-HD, including DTS: Virtual X Technology. Given Xiaomi’s collaboration with Amazon for this TV, it might also offer Alexa integration for voice assistance.
Pricing and availability details have yet to be disclosed, but the Redmi Smart Fire TV is expected to be competitively priced, likely falling below Rs 30,000. More information will be revealed during the TV’s launch event next week, so stay tuned for updates!
