Gemini has significantly improved since its launch and is expected to receive numerous features in the coming months, potentially becoming a complete replacement for the Assistant. Recent reports indicate that Gemini may integrate popular music-streaming apps soon, and new findings suggest that it will enhance the user experience by allowing information display over other apps.
AssembleDebug, a well-known leaker, was the first to notice this upcoming change reported by PiunikaWeb. Currently, the Gemini experience can feel slow as it redirects you from your current app to the Gemini app whenever you ask questions. The new feature, once implemented, will enable a seamless experience by allowing Gemini to display results over other apps. It’s surprising that this feature wasn’t available from the beginning.
Hopefully, this update will also address another issue that has hindered my full transition to Gemini. Currently, when you activate Gemini from the lock screen, the app prompts you to unlock your device before displaying the results. This extra step can be frustrating and disrupts the user experience.
Moreover, AssembleDebug revealed additional forthcoming features to Android Authority. These include expanded capabilities for Gemini Advanced users, allowing them to upload any file. Currently, the Android app is restricted to photos only, whereas the web version has had this feature for a while.
How do you feel about Gemini app’s upcoming display-over-other-apps functionality? What features do you hope Google Gemini will introduce next? Feel at liberty to voice your opinions in the comments section!
