Instagram’s Threads App to Receive Web Version in the Coming Days

In a relatively short time, Instagram’s Threads app has gained popularity as a contender against Twitter. Since its recent launch, the app has undergone several updates to enhance its features. However, what many users have been eagerly anticipating is a web version of the app. Recent reports suggest that this long-awaited web version will be making its debut “in a few days.”

According to a Threads post by Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Instagram’s parent company Meta, the web version of the Threads app is set to be released soon. This announcement comes after Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, mentioned about working on a Threads for Web version a month ago. While initial statements indicated that a web version wasn’t a priority, it seems Meta is taking user demands seriously and expediting the process of bringing Threads to PC users.

The official launch of the Threads for Web version is expected to occur by the end of this week or in the following week. This development will enable users to access the Threads app on their Windows or Mac devices, expanding its reach beyond the mobile platform.

Threads has seen several updates and new features introduced since its launch. Among the recent additions are the Following tab, allowing users to view posts from accounts they follow in chronological order, similar to Twitter’s timeline. This option will be accessible through the Home button on the bottom toolbar or the Threads icon at the top. Moreover, the iOS app now supports translations and the ability to subscribe to users who aren’t in your direct follower list.

Other enhancements include the ability to share posts directly to Instagram DMs, mention users in posts, and add custom alt text to photos and videos. The Threads app is continuously evolving, with more features expected to roll out in the near future. As updates unfold, users can anticipate an enriched experience with the app. Stay tuned for further updates on the Threads app and its web version. Are you looking forward to Threads for Web?
