Honor Tech unveils its second smartphone in India, following last year’s Honor 90. The new Honor X9b arrives with a Snapdragon chipset, a 108MP camera setup, and an anti-drop display. Priced below 30,000, it enters the competition against Redmi Note 13 Pro and Realme 12 Pro. Let’s delve into the specs, features, and pricing of the Honor X9b.
Specs and Features of the Honor X9b
The Honor X9b boasts a 6.78-inch curved display sporting a 1.5K Full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Notably, it introduces Ultra-Bounce 360° Anti-Drop Resistance protection for the display, claiming to cushion all sides from drops of up to 1.5 meters, even on hard surfaces, though we’ll verify this claim ourselves. With a peak brightness of 1200 nits, the panel also incorporates 1920Hz PWM dimming to minimize fluctuations in low brightness levels.
Internally, the device runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A standout feature is its substantial 5,800mAh battery, promising up to 3 days of standby time as per Honor’s claims. Additionally, the Honor X9b supports 35W fast charging, although the charger is not included in the package.
The circular camera setup houses a 108MP primary camera with an f/1.75 aperture, accompanied by a 5MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro camera. Capable of recording videos up to 4K resolution, the main camera utilizes Honor’s Super-Fast Freeze Moments Motion Capture Engine for sharp photos, even in low-light conditions. Additionally, there’s a 16MP selfie camera nestled in a punch-hole on the front.
Regarding software, the Honor X9b operates on Honor’s MagicOS 7.2, built upon Android 13. However, given the current release of Android 15 DP1, the choice of Android 13 feels outdated. The brand assures users of two years of major Android updates, potentially extending support to Android 15.
The phone’s body is crafted from polycarbonate featuring a vegan leather finish, aimed at reducing fingerprints. Drawing inspiration from premium watches, its design incorporates a “dual ring” module to house the rear cameras. Moreover, the Honor X9b boasts an IP53 rating for water and dust resistance.
Pricing and Availability of the Honor X9b:
Finally, onto the anticipated details. The Honor X9b is priced at Rs 25,999 for the sole 8GB+256GB variant in India. It will be purchasable on Amazon India, beginning February 16th at 12:00 PM. ICICI Bank cardholders are eligible for a Rs 3,000 discount. The phone comes in Sunrise Orange and Midnight Black color choices.
