AMD plans to unveil the Radeon RX 7600 XT, targeting consumers seeking budget or mid-range GPUs with an enticing price point. While the Radeon RX 7600 has already debuted, this upcoming XT variant promises enhanced performance. There’s speculation about potential increased VRAM on this new card, although official details on this aspect remain undisclosed.
A recent regulatory filing in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) hints at the emergence of new Artkek-based Radeon GPUs. EEC filings serve as a regulatory prerequisite before brands can sell new GPUs. Artkek, a lesser-known AIB partner for AMD graphics cards, appears to be involved in this development.
This particular brand currently markets several GPUs, including the RX 580 and RX 6600, in select regions. Previously, leaks had surfaced regarding the RX 7600 XT a few months ago. According to these leaks, the new RX 7600 XT might boast a VRAM capacity of 12/10 GB GDDR6, as hinted in previous sources.
Additional leaks concerning the AMD Radeon 7000 series GPUs have emerged through Benchlife. Their exclusive sources suggest that AMD plans to introduce solely the RX 7600 XT, indicating no release of other new GPUs under the company’s RDNA 3 lineup.
The RX 7600 XT is reportedly positioned as the final RDNA 3 card in AMD’s lineup, as indicated by Benchlife’s sources. While the EEC filing hinted at Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 models, only the RX 7600 XT seems to be slated for release.
Despite the prior launch of RX 7700 XT & RX 7800 XT, the latest leak suggests that non-XT variants of these cards won’t be hitting the market. Therefore, AMD’s GPU lineup, featuring the latest RDNA 3 architecture, is anticipated to include the following hierarchy (from lower to higher tiers): RX 7600, RX 7600 XT, RX 7700 XT, RX 7800 XT, RX 7900 XTX, and RX 7900 TX. Notably, no reference model by AMD is in the works for the RX 7600 XT.
Reports indicate that previously rumored RDNA 3 GPUs like RX 7950 XTX and RX 7700/7800 are also unlikely to be released, according to the same source. These aforementioned RDNA 3 GPUs are expected to comprise AMD’s final Radeon graphics card lineup, competing against Nvidia’s RTX 40 Series. Future launches from AMD might occur after approximately a year or more. Meanwhile, Nvidia is reportedly planning a scaled-down RTX 3050.
AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT: Release Date & Price
AMD is poised to finalize its RDNA 3 lineup with the impending launch of a new GPU, the Radeon RX 7600 XT. Speculation suggests a price range of $300 to $400, drawn from the launch prices of the RX 7700 XT ($450) and RX 7600 ($269).
Expected to debut in the first half of 2024, the RX 7600 XT positions itself as a new mid-range graphics card according to Benchlife’s insights on the RDNA 3 lineup. With games increasingly demanding 10GB+ VRAM, highlighted in our RTX 4060 Ti 8GB review, this GPU could become a favorite among gamers. However, its success might hinge on avoiding the 8GB VRAM capacity pitfall.
